CEDIA has named Jessa Foor vice president of marketing and communications, entrusting her with how the association reaches members, designers, and builders. In the same Nov. 5 announcement, CEDIA promoted Kory Dickerson, its senior vice president of finance and operations, to chief financial officer.
Foor will lead CEDIA’s branding, marketing, digital engagement, content, and media relations. CEDIA said she will work to coordinate communications across membership, education, events, advocacy, research, and design and build initiatives.
This year’s Smart Home Day showed what that outreach can look like in practice. It was the first edition since CEDIA launched its Design Build Outreach department. Alongside webinars and networking, the association supplied campaign materials integrators could adapt for showroom events and conversations with local designers and builders.
Foor brings nearly 20 years of association leadership experience. Most recently, she served as executive director of the Code of Support Foundation, where she led corporate partnerships and fundraising initiatives supporting service members, veterans, caregivers, and their families. She previously held senior marketing roles at the National Business Aviation Association and the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics.
“Jessa has the experience and strategic perspective to bring those efforts together, sharpen our story, and ensure it resonates with the audiences we want to reach,” CEDIA Global President and CEO Daryl Friedman said in the announcement. The appointments come as CEDIA prepares for a CEO transition. Friedman announced plans to retire in 2027 in May.
Dickerson joined CEDIA in 2019 as senior director of finance and served as interim co-CEO before taking on the finance and operations role. CEDIA credited him with helping the association manage the financial strain of the pandemic and supporting its strategic investments.
