Unboxed: Everblog HomeCal Calendar

With two children in two different schools, a wife who’s a teacher and school administrator in a third school, and my own travel and work schedule—you can only imagine what it’s like to keep track of our lives. This isn’t an uncommon problem across the world, though. Activities, sports, you name it. Our calendar is an absolute mess.

The wife and I have a shared calendar we keep on our phones, but between sports that use different apps, the different work and family calendars, we often find ourselves missing something or forgetting to copy things over to the family calendar. (Let’s be real, it’s me, the husband, who’s the problem.)

That’s the exact type of situation that Everblog—a company and product launched late in 2025—set out to solve. The brand commits itself to providing “the highest quality digital calendar products,” leaning on their in-house R&D team to remain innovative, high-quality, and user friendly. The HomeCal, a 21.5-inch digital display, was their first big launch and a product couldn’t wait to get my hands on.

The wall-mounted display was simple to hang. The box included everything you need (minus the drill) to get going, including a template sheet for simple screw alignment. We decided to place the HomeCal in a spot by our front door where we had a chalkboard calendar that was, admittedly, two months behind at all times. It fit seamlessly into the space, and the hanging cord is kept mostly blocked by the rest of the wall-mounted accessories.

After powering up, the set up process is completed through a phone-based app. Again, super simple. A few permissions had to be granted and integrations confirmed, but once those were all synced, I haven’t really needed to go back to the phone app at all. Everblog’s product connects to all major calendar apps, including Google, iCal (Apple), Outlook, Yahoo, and, most importantly for us, TeamSnap—a sports management platform that just about all of our youth teams use.

To be frank, it was a little overwhelming at first to see all of the family’s calendars laid out in front of us. So much so that I removed my work calendar from the app. But it has been a gamechanger for us as an organizational device. And I know there’s more we could be getting out of the thing. For us, the HomeCal is used as a quick-glance reminder of what’s in store that day or that week, which has led to slightly fewer reminders from Wife about appointments or which kid has what practice that night.

In addition, we’ve shared a bunch of family photos to the display, and those rotate through when we’re not in need of schedule info, essentially like a screensaver.

But there’s plenty more features at the ready, including the ability to set up gamified chore lists for the kids, create automated routines, set focus times, manage screen time, meal plan, and more. The company will also continue to push free OTA updates as new features become available or other updates are needed.

Since sending the HomeCal for review, Everblog has launched a second product—a 13.4-inch FridgeCal that uses magnetic mounts to turn a standard fridge into one with a smart display. At $699 for the HomeCal and $409 for the FridgeCal, these are not light investments. But they seem to run regular promotions (over half-off right now for Mother’s Day), which could be a sign of slow movement. At that rate, they’re worth purchases for the families constantly on the go and lacking a single source of truth for their whirlwind schedules.
