The third iteration of the Ellipsys Catalyst event was packed with programming that allowed the commercial integrator attendees to really focus on improving their businesses. Hosted February 18-20 at the Talking Stick Resort in Scottsdale, Arizona, Ellipsys Commercial Technology Group brought together the group’s members and vendor partners for a three-day event that has centered on collaboration and accountability.
“Ellipsys adds speed to our members’ growth and day-to-day operations,” Chris Whitley, director of Ellipsys, said in a statement recapping the event. “When you combine transparency and shared accountability, you create an environment that allows commercial integrators to solve challenges faster and pursue new opportunities with confidence.”

To that end, the event included a number of sessions intended to force members to take a hard look at their own businesses. Among them, a “Top Gun Workshop” allowed attendees to examine the why of every operation through goal setting and tactical strategy and accountability. Additionally, multiple tours of commercial spaces provided unique opportunities for systems integrators to both walk through experience-enhancing environments, and network with their colleagues and partners.
The event’s keynote speaker, Robert “Shark” Garland, encouraged attendees to focus on purpose, responsibility, and behavioral discipline during his session. Garland outlined the “why, what, and how” of resilient leadership and how structure can breed composure during disruptive times.
“The most important thing as a leader is to share your experience,” Garland said during the session. “Be better tomorrow than we are today.”
