Coastal Source is broadening its outdoor lighting and audio portfolio with several additions aimed at giving designers, builders, and integrators more control over how technology disappears into the built environment.
The company’s latest updates are led by two new EVO architectural lighting fixtures: the EVO Press Fit Shielded Surface Light and the EVO Press Fit Semi-Shielded Surface Light. Both are designed for integration into walls, stair risers, columns, pergolas, and other architectural features where lighting needs to feel intentional, refined, and visually quiet.
For design-forward outdoor spaces, that matters. Glare control, fixture profile, finish options, and installation flexibility can determine whether exterior lighting supports the architecture or competes with it.
The EVO Press Fit Shielded Surface Light is designed to create a wide, soft wash of light while concealing the light source to reduce glare. Powered by the EVO 360+ LED Module, it is suited for applications where comfort and subtle architectural illumination are priorities.
The EVO Press Fit Semi-Shielded Surface Light takes a more directional approach. Built around the EVO Direct LED Module, it is intended for wall washing, column lighting, and hardscape uplighting where longer throw distances and controlled beam placement are needed without leaving the source exposed.
Both fixtures feature solid brass construction, meet or exceed NEMA 6/IP67 standards, and are available in Vintage Brass, White, and Nickel finishes, with Black expected to follow. They also use Coastal Source’s Press Fit installation system, which provides quicker integration across a range of architectural conditions.
“Every outdoor environment presents different architectural, aesthetic, and performance requirements, so designers and integrators need solutions that give them genuine flexibility,” Jason Sanders, VP of Product Management at Coastal Source, said in a statement. “The latest additions reflect our commitment to expanding the ways outdoor lighting and audio can be integrated into different environments.”
The expansion also includes a new black grille option for the company’s Ovation In-Ceiling Speaker. Ovation, Coastal Source’s first in-ceiling speaker, is designed for covered outdoor spaces where full-range audio is desired without a visually prominent speaker. The black grille gives specifiers another option for darker ceilings, architectural palettes, or projects where the speaker needs to recede further from view.
Coastal Source is also highlighting its recently introduced Razor Hardscape Bracket, which expands installation options for 300 Series Razor speakers. The bracket enables freestanding hardscape deployments in situations where wall mounting is not practical, giving integrators more ways to bring high-performance audio to patios and outdoor living spaces.
Taken together, the updates point to a familiar but important shift in outdoor living: clients want lighting and audio that perform at a high level, but they also expect those systems to respect the architecture, landscape, and material palette around them. For the design/build and integration channel, products like these create more room to collaborate earlier, solve site-specific challenges, and deliver outdoor spaces that feel finished rather than retrofitted.
