CEDIA will host the first North American workshop for its RP32: Audio System Measurement and Verification Recommended Practice at CEDIA Expo 2026, bringing hands-on training around a standard that could have meaningful implications for how integrators, designers, and builders define, verify, and communicate audio performance.
The full-day RP32: Audio System Measurement and Verification Workshop will take place Monday, Aug. 31, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Colorado Convention Center, where the course will be offered as part of the CEDIA Education Conference. The session will be led by Adam Pelz, owner and president of Bespoke Cinemas; Matt Poes, owner of Poes Acoustics; and Tom Dellicompagni, owner of Dellicompagni.
While the workshop marks the North American debut of RP32 training, what’s more significant is the continued maturation of performance-based standards in the CI channel. RP32 outlines objective, repeatable methods for measuring and verifying audio system performance after installation. In practical terms, it gives professionals a structured process for confirming whether a completed system meets the original design goals and the client’s expectations.
That matters in both residential and commercial environments, where audio performance is often promised through design intent, product selection and expert installation, but not always documented through a consistent verification process. For integrators, RP32 creates a clearer pathway to demonstrate the value of their work. For architects, interior designers, builders, and other trade partners, it offers a more concrete framework for understanding whether technical performance goals have actually been achieved.
RP32 also connects directly to CEDIA RP22: Immersive Audio System Design. According to CEDIA, RP32 incorporates verification against the performance parameters defined in RP22, enabling integrators to show whether a system reaches the targeted RP22 performance level. That link between design standard and verification practice is especially important as immersive audio systems become more sophisticated and more closely integrated into luxury residential, hospitality, and commercial spaces.
The workshop is designed to introduce attendees to RP32’s recommended procedures while giving them practical experience with measurement tools and software. Participants will learn how to gather reliable data, interpret results, and document system performance in a consistent, professional format.
By the end of the course, attendees are expected to be able to describe and apply the RP32 methodology, perform objective and repeatable system measurements, verify performance against RP22 parameters, and communicate results clearly to clients and project stakeholders.

The emphasis on documentation and repeatability may be particularly relevant for the design/build community. As technology becomes more embedded in the built environment, standards such as RP32 can help reduce ambiguity between project teams by translating audio performance into measurable outcomes. That can support clearer scopes of work, more informed client conversations and stronger collaboration between integrators and adjacent trades.
Early bird pricing for the RP32 Workshop is available through July 17 at $299 for CEDIA members and $499 for non-members. After July 17, pricing increases to $349 for members and $549 for non-members.
