As sports venues continue evolving into fully connected hospitality destinations, Crestron has secured a major role in one of the world’s most ambitious stadium redevelopment projects.
FC Barcelona has named Crestron the Official Smart Hospitality Systems Partner for Espai Barça, the club’s sweeping transformation centered around the future Spotify Camp Nou. The multi-year redevelopment aims to create what the club describes as a next-generation sports and entertainment campus—one built around immersive experiences, premium hospitality, and integrated technology.
While rooted in commercial AV and hospitality, the partnership underscores a broader shift that increasingly overlaps with the luxury residential market: technology becoming seamlessly embedded into lifestyle-driven environments.
At the heart of the project is a significant expansion of VIP and hospitality spaces, including suites, lounges, and premium entertainment environments designed to operate year-round. Crestron’s role will focus on delivering integrated smart hospitality systems that unify control, automation, and user experience throughout those spaces.
“Espai Barça is about building what the modern venue should be,” Brad Hintze, VP of Global Customer Success and Marketing at Crestron, said in the statement. “Going beyond the match days of each season, this new venue is primed to be active and lively all 365 days of the year. Crestron is powering the infrastructure behind it by enabling every space to adapt instantly, operate seamlessly, and deliver consistent experiences at massive scale.”

That philosophy feels increasingly familiar within the design and integration community, where technology is expected to disappear into architecture while elevating comfort, personalization, and entertainment.
Espai Barça itself represents a massive evolution for FC Barcelona. Beyond the stadium renovation, the project includes broader campus redevelopment intended to position the venue as a global destination for sports, entertainment, and hospitality. The club has already emphasized premium guest experiences as a central component of the project’s long-term strategy.
“Crestron’s arrival as Official Smart Hospitality Systems Partner is another important step in our ambition to make Espai Barça a global benchmark for innovation, connectivity and premium hospitality,” said Marc Bruix, partnerships director at FC Barcelona. “Through this partnership, Spotify Camp Nou will become a smarter, more flexible and multifunctional venue, capable of delivering seamless and world-class experiences for fans, partners and visitors every single day of the year.”
For Crestron, the partnership also reflects the growing convergence between residential, hospitality, and large-scale experiential design. Expectations around lighting, AV, automation, and personalized control are no longer confined to the home—they now extend across luxury hotels, entertainment venues, and destination-driven environments.

Projects like Espai Barça increasingly resemble smart city-scale integration efforts, where technology infrastructure becomes foundational to the overall experience rather than a secondary layer added later.
For the custom integration industry, that crossover is becoming impossible to ignore.
As homeowners continue gravitating toward resort-style living and immersive entertainment spaces, the same principles shaping hospitality and stadium design are finding their way into residential projects. Seamless control, invisible technology, and curated experiences are quickly becoming universal expectations.
And at Spotify Camp Nou, those ideas are about to play out on one of the world’s biggest stages.
