CEDIA has announced three of its 2026 individual award recipients, recognizing leaders whose work has helped shape the professional smart home industry through innovation, education, and long-term service to the channel.
Peter Lyngdorf, the Danish entrepreneur and high-performance audio pioneer, has been named the recipient of CEDIA’s 2026 Lifetime Achievement Award. Dave Tkachuk and Gordon van Zuiden have been named 2026 CEDIA Fellows.
Lyngdorf’s career has had a lasting influence on residential audio, home cinema, and luxury listening environments. He founded HiFi Klubben, which has grown to more than 100 stores, and established or helped build brands including Steinway Lyngdorf, Lyngdorf Audio, DALI, and Purifi. His work has touched loudspeaker design, amplification, digital audio, and room-correction technology, including Equibit digital amplifier technology and RoomPerfect room correction.
His collaboration with Steinway & Sons through Steinway Lyngdorf also helped position residential audio as a luxury experience, connecting engineering performance with craftsmanship, design intent, and the expectations of high-end homeowners.
Tkachuk has spent decades in residential and commercial AV system design, engineering, documentation, education, and product development. A former president of Tkachuk Associates and founder of Symbol Logic, he has also contributed to CEDIA committees, certification work, and industry standards. He served as co-chairman of the CTA/CEDIA Systems Documentation Work Group for the AV Architectural Drawing Symbols Standard, ANSI J-STD-710, and was named CEDIA’s 2011 Volunteer of the Year.
van Zuiden, founder and president of cyberManor, was among the early custom integrators focused on IP network-based home technologies. He previously chaired the CEDIA Technology Council and served six years on CEDIA’s Board of Directors. His career has included education, standards work, consulting, and more than 20 years as a monthly Residential Systems columnist on home networking.
