CEDIA Members Help Technology Disappear Into the Design of WOW!house 2026

Today’s most sophisticated smart homes aren’t defined by visible screens, speakers, or control panels—they’re defined by what homeowners don’t see. That philosophy is on full display at WOW!house 2026, the annual designer show house presented by Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour in London. Running June 2 through July 2, the event brings together leading interior designers, premium brands, and technology professionals to create fully realized residential environments that showcase the future of luxury living.

As the event’s Official Technology Partner, CEDIA is highlighting the increasingly important relationship between smart home integration and interior design. Seven CEDIA member integration firms, along with several technology manufacturers, are collaborating with designers to demonstrate how technology can enhance a space without competing with it.

The result is a collection of rooms where lighting, audio, video, and control systems quietly support the design intent rather than dominate it.

“Smart home technology has become an essential component of luxury residential design,” Andrea Harvey, CEDIA’s new Director of Design & Build Outreach, said in a statement. According to Harvey, WOW!house provides an opportunity for integrators and designers to demonstrate how thoughtfully implemented technology can elevate atmosphere, comfort, and the overall experience of a space.

Among the participating projects is a collaboration between Nucleus AV and Russell Sage Studio, where immersive audio, lighting, and visual technologies combine to create an emotionally driven sensory environment. The room, known as “The Momentarium,” showcases how technology can disappear into the architecture while enhancing the occupant experience. Speakers are concealed within the room, lighting scenes are automated, and visual displays blend seamlessly into the design language of the space.

That emphasis on invisible technology reflects a broader shift occurring throughout the residential technology industry. As luxury homeowners and designers increasingly prioritize aesthetics, integrators are being challenged to deliver high-performance systems that remain virtually undetectable. Industry collaborations such as WOW!house help to demonstrate that technology and design no longer need to compete for attention.

Other CEDIA member firms participating in WOW!house 2026 are taking similar approaches. Butler Harwell is integrating lighting solutions within a coastal-inspired bathroom by De Rosee Sa, while Homeplay is blending discreet audio-visual technology and human-centric lighting into a kitchen designed by Samantha Bartlett. Equippd is incorporating music and lighting experiences into both a principal bedroom and a speakeasy-inspired salon, and POWERPLANT Home Automation is delivering concealed lighting and AV solutions within a luxury bathroom environment.

The event also serves as a platform for educating the design community about the role of technology in modern residential projects. Throughout the month-long showcase, CEDIA will host continuing education sessions, guided tours, and panel discussions focused on collaboration between technology professionals and design-build stakeholders. Topics range from personalized technology experiences to the growing influence of sensory design in the home.

What’s particularly fascinating about this event and others like it is the real-world applicability of everything on display. Rather than traipsing through the halls of a convention center and going from booth to booth for specific product demos, the attendee gets to take in the actual integrated experience. Sure, you might see some logos or signage that indicates what speakers are present or whose keypads are on the way (that’s how paid placement works). But the atmosphere is as the luxury homeowner would want it. And that is something that’s impossible to replicate in an expo hall.

So, as the boundaries between design and technology continue to blur, events like WOW!house reinforce a simple but increasingly important message: the best smart home technology isn’t the technology homeowners notice—it’s the technology that makes a home feel better without ever calling attention to itself.
