At CEDIA Expo 2026, Josh.ai is introducing ProStudio, a new dealer platform designed to make professional smart home programming faster, more flexible, and easier to support in the field.
The launch packages several major updates for integrators, including an AI-assisted Automations builder, Nimble DevSuite+ for expanded device integration, support for a new Josh.ai I/O Box by Global Cache, and a redesigned Help Center aimed at technical training and troubleshooting. Taken together, the tools show Josh.ai really giving the custom installation channel a leg up in the race towards more efficiency in system design at a moment when homeowners are expecting more personalized and intelligent control experiences.
The most visible addition is Automations, which brings generative AI directly into the programming workflow. Instead of manually building each trigger, schedule, condition, scene, and device adjustment, installers can describe what a client wants the home to do. Josh.ai then translates that request into system programming that can be reviewed and refined.
For a dealer, that could mean creating a morning routine that opens shades only when conditions are sunny, setting lighting behavior based on both occupancy and time of day, or coordinating distributed systems for an evening shutdown sequence. Josh.ai says the goal is to reduce programming time from hours to minutes while making deeper project personalization practical.
“Control systems have traditionally forced integrators to choose between customization and programming time. Our AI changes that,” said Alex Capecelatro, CEO of Josh.ai. He added that ProStudio is intended to help partners do more with existing resources, differentiate their work, and build more profitable businesses.
Automations is being announced and previewed exclusively at CEDIA Expo, with availability planned for later this year.
ProStudio also advances Josh.ai’s interoperability strategy through Nimble DevSuite+, an update to the developer platform first introduced in 2024. The new version will roll out in stages later this year and adds meta drivers beginning with Home Assistant, Apple HomeKit, and Matter. Those connections are intended to open Josh.ai systems to thousands of additional smart home products across lighting, climate, entertainment, security, and related categories.
For advanced integrators, Nimble DevSuite+ will also support custom device drivers for unique client needs. Josh.ai notes that independently created drivers will require an additional hardware module and will not be officially supported or certified by the company, but the capability gives dealers more room to solve one-off integration challenges.
The platform further extends to legacy devices through the Josh.ai I/O Box by Global Cache. Built around Global Cache’s Global Connect platform, the dealer-store product will support infrared, RS232 and RS485 serial communication, relay control, and sensor inputs. It is expected to become available later this year.
Josh.ai is also highlighting an expanded ecosystem at the show, with new or forthcoming integrations across audio, HVAC, shading, cameras, locks, TV lifts, and distributed audio. Notable updates include BluOS VoiceCast, CoolAutomation BACnet and Modbus HVAC support, MotorRyse shades, Nexus 21 TV lifts, Schlage Sense Pro locks, and Sonos Amp Multi.
Rounding out ProStudio is a redesigned Josh.ai Help Center. The company says AI-powered search, release-note notifications, topic following, article feedback, direct support ticket submission, and expanded training curriculum are all intended to shorten the time installers spend looking for answers.
For integrators, ProStudio positions Josh.ai as both a control platform and a workflow platform. The pitch is straightforward: less time spent on repetitive programming and troubleshooting, more flexibility in project design, and a path to increasingly customized home experiences without adding the same level of labor.
