A Luxury Lounge Where Smart Living Meets Commercial-Grade AV

A great showroom does more than prove that a product works. At its best, it lets clients understand how technology can change the feeling, flow, and utility of a space before they ever make a final design decision. That is the idea behind the new USK Electronics Luxury AV Lounge in Hyderabad, India: an experience center built to move fluidly between luxury residential living and professional audiovisual performance.

USK Electronics set out to create something more ambitious than a standard demo room. The lounge needed to feel polished enough for high-end homeowners, flexible enough for commercial and hospitality conversations, and technically deep enough to demonstrate the full range of what modern AV control can do. In practice, that meant one environment had to support private entertainment, smart-living scenes, hybrid meetings, live events, a golf simulator and large-format cinematic experiences without making the technology feel heavy-handed.

The project is anchored by a hybrid Crestron platform. Crestron Home OS provides the elegant front-end experience visitors expect in a luxury residential setting, while a custom Crestron control system handles the more advanced logic behind the scenes. The result is a space that can be approachable at the touch screen while still supporting sophisticated AV routing, environmental control and multi-mode operation.

That balance is important. For designers, builders and integrators, the most compelling smart spaces are rarely about isolated features. They are about how lighting, audio, video, climate, security and room use come together in ways that feel natural to the client. The USK lounge uses Crestron control to connect those systems into experiences that visitors can understand immediately: a relaxed bar and lounge setting, a home cinema, an indoor golf environment, a collaborative conference setup or an event-ready gathering space.

A Showroom Designed Around Transformation

The Luxury AV Lounge was designed to shift between modes rather than stay locked into one use case. Mood-based lighting scenes, spatial audio and flexible display configurations allow the same footprint to support a town hall-style presentation, a DJ-led event, a private screening or a residential smart-home walkthrough. Dynamic 360-degree lighting and room-wide audio help create the sense that the environment is responding to the moment, not simply switching inputs.

That kind of flexibility is especially useful in a showroom because different clients need to see different possibilities. A homeowner may care most about movie nights, entertaining and everyday control from a touch screen or keypad. A commercial client may want to understand conferencing, content sharing, distributed video and scalable control. USK’s design lets those stories live in the same place without reducing either one to a checklist.

Residential Comfort, Professional AV Infrastructure

On the residential side, Crestron DM NAX Audio-over-IP technology distributes audio through gathering areas including the game room, bar, living room and indoor golf simulator. The goal is a cohesive entertainment atmosphere that follows the visitor through the lounge rather than isolating each area as a separate technology zone.

Crestron touch screens and Horizon keypads support consistent control throughout the environment, giving visitors a familiar way to adjust scenes and understand how the system would feel in daily use. That tactile layer matters in luxury residential work: the experience has to feel intuitive, not like a technical demonstration that only an installer can operate.

The commercial and collaboration side builds on that same foundation. Crestron 1 Beyond camera technology is used to demonstrate the Crestron Sightline Experience for hybrid meetings, helping remote participants engage more naturally with people in the room. Crestron DM NVX AV-over-IP distributes video across the conferencing area so participants can stay aligned on shared content, while Crestron AirMedia enables guests to present from their own devices by entering the display code.

An Example of the Evolving Showroom

For the design/build and integration community, the project is a useful reminder that showroom strategy is changing. A luxury technology showroom cannot simply show devices on a wall. It has to help clients imagine how connected systems will shape hospitality, comfort, wellness, collaboration and entertainment inside a finished space.

USK Electronics’ approach also reflects a broader reality in high-end projects: residential and commercial expectations are increasingly overlapping. Homeowners want cinematic entertainment, polished control and reliable infrastructure. Commercial clients want spaces that feel hospitality-driven and easy to use. A platform that can bridge those expectations gives integrators a stronger way to tell the story.

By combining Crestron Home with custom Crestron control, USK created a showroom that is both polished and expandable. It can introduce clients to luxury smart living at a comfortable pace, then reveal the deeper technical possibilities when the conversation turns to conferencing, events, distributed AV or highly customized automation.
