Samsung Reportedly Moving U.S. Headquarters from New Jersey to Texas

Less than a year after moving into their new digs in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey, Samsung is reportedly looking to move its U.S. headquarters to Plano, Texas, later this year. Samsung is currently leasing the old Unilever building after renovating it and moving into the 325,000-square-foot facility full-time in September 2025

“We are preparing for the relocation with the goal of completing the move within this year,” an anonymous company official told one outlet. “After a thorough review, we will finalize plans for headquarters operations and workforce allocation.”

Even though the champagne stains are still fresh on the Englewood Cliffs building, the move to Texas would seem to make sense. It would bring their U.S. HQ closer to the company’s chip factory in Austin, while also providing more favorable corporate tax policies and lower cost real estate.

According to the reports, about 1,000 employees currently work out of the Englewood Cliffs location, and most are expected to be reassigned to the new location in Plano. A small number would remain in New Jersey to support local office operations.

Back in April 2024, Samsung announced it was awarded up to $6.4 billion in direct funding under the CHIPS and Science Act, dollars that would go towards the estimated $40 billion the company is expected to invest into the region as it looks to quickly scale its semiconductor manufacturing capabilities there.
